The Conga Club’s, 70’s fueled, guitar driven jazz, with its funk based world groove, comes to life in their premier release "Welcome to The Conga Club." These San Francisco Bay Area all stars deliver a little bit of funk, a little bit of R&B and a whole lot of Latin Jazz. The bands cast of characters include Dave Shul (Prince, Spearhead, Los Angelitos), John Bendich (Pete Escovedo, Ray Obeido), Adrian Areas (Tito Puente, Jerry Gonzales, Potato Valdez), Carl Young (M’chelle Ndgeccello, Joan Osborne), and Jay Lane (Primus, Ratdog, Charlie Hunter Trio).

"Welcome to The Conga Club" presents songs each with their own distinct flavor certain to please everyone from the 70’s fusion aficionado to the progressive acid jazz generation of today. Not to be neglected, even Latin Jazz traditionalists can’t help but notice the underlying tones reminiscent of an early Eddie Palmieri on the piano.
